Anonymous Quickie | Just Another Law and Order Episode?

Is it just another Law and Order SVU episode, or a real danger?

Anonymous Quickie

Anonymous quickie was the second hottest search term on Google today Jan 6th 2010. That coincided with when the term was used in a Law and Order Special Victim Unit episode for the first time. And since then, every time the episode shows on any TV the search volume of this keyword goes through the roof. As per Google trends own words (Hotness: Volcanic).

This audience reaction indicates either or both of two facts:

Anonymous quickie background check
1. A large percentage of this audience is interested in such dangerous activities and are looking for a similar service to that they saw in the episode,

2. Parents/guardians of preteen and teenagers are really concerned about the safety of their kids and are making sure such service doesn't exist, and how to protect their kids from this threat if it does exist.

In both cases, the episode opened the audience eyes on something that raised concerns about this kind of activity. This deserves devoting a whole website about the issue. This blog post is a tiny contribution to the online community that I benefited from a great deal in the past 15 years.

What is "Anonymous Quickie" anyway?

This Law and Order episode is about a 17 y/o girl found beaten to death in a back alley. The investigations lead to her boy friend as the last one who saw her alive, who reveals his girl friend's secret life that involves the anonymous quickie service. In the episode, this is a service that uses a geo-location technology that tracks your signals from your mobile device and hooks you up with someone from your local community for casual sex with no commitment. The victim had been using the service until she was found dead. The investigations lead to a serial rapist who spreads HIV to his victims, and to another person who actually murdered the victim.

Does Anonymous Quickie Really Exist?
This kind of services is no different from dating services. Although big names in the dating industry (like eHarmoney, Christian Mingle, Catholic Mingle, and Singles Net) and top Christian dating sites take strong measurements in order to protect the customers, still a predator who is determined to hunt down a teenager prey can sneak around to reach his goal.

Although most of the dating sites don't allow talking openly about sex or uploading rated pictures in profiles, still some dating services are only specialized in this kind of dating (local adult dating, or worse, cheat-dating).

So in reality such sites really exist. I am an affiliate marketer and I see such offers in big affiliate networks. They offer big buck and, according to network stats, they sell like crazy! Very tempting, especially these days with struggling economy and millions of lost jobs.

Cheating Sites For The Married Only

Can you believe that? A certain dating company is advertising everywhere, even on the TV. And their service is matching CHEATING SPOUSES! And their slogan is "Life is short, have an affair"!!! (They pay their affiliates over $115/head)

They are not alone by the way. Dating companies are now "niche" oriented, like religious dating, ethnic dating, body type dating, and now cheat dating. As a business owner you wouldn't devote some of your resources to cheat dating unless you know there is a market to absorb your service, and your investment is very likely to be profitable. Right?

Let's make sure the market exists. Here are some stats I copied from womansavers.com:

"70 percent of married women and 54 percent of married men did not know of their spouses' extramarital activity.
22 percent of men and 14 percent of women admitted to having sexual relations outside their marriage sometime in their past.
17 percent of divorces in the United States are caused by infidelity.
Source: Associated Press"

So, if you are a married American and reading this, there is 14-22% chance that your spouse is cheating on you, and if so, there is a 54-70% chance that you have no clue about it. ISN'T THAT SCARY?

And here is more from womansavers.com:
Up to 37% of men and 22% of women admit to having affairs. Researchers think the vast majority of the millions of people who visit chat rooms, have multiple "special friends". Dr. Bob Lanier, askbob.com

These are old numbers. With the expanding "anonymous quickie" and "cheat dating" services one can safely expect it to have increased in 2009-2010.

That was the bad news. The good news is that this market behavior created another market for software developers. Now there are programs you can install on your computer and catch your cheating spouse, hopefully before it gets serious and hard to fix.

Anonymous Quickie And Your Kids!

Sex Offenders | Organ Trafficking

In the anonymous Internet world anyone can sign up for a dating service with a fake identity. That is true in case of curious kids (usually 11-17), and in case of predators who go online anonymously to pick their next prey.

Could your kid be involved in such activity? It is possible.
Could a predator be after your kid? As possible as above.

But it doesn't stop there.

Did you know that chat rooms are a good place to prey on kids and teenagers? I bet you knew that.

But did you also know that chat rooms are an excellent place to recruit teenagers for hate crimes? How about drugs ... alcohol ... child pornography ... do I need to say more?

Organ Trafficking

What is the best source of organs for transplants?

Usually young people are healthier than older ones, and their organs are supposed to have a longer life span that those collected from dead bodies of middle aged people or seniors.

That makes teenagers the best source for illegal organ trafficking.

Social networks are an excellent place for picking up people based on their geographic location, age, and gender.

Our kids are facing a real danger online and it is our job as parents to protect our kids and keep them safe.

Monitoring computer usage is critical

With these dangers around our kids in the online world, it is a good practice to install a keylogg monitoring software on all your home computers. It is not invading your kids privacy because you are entitled to protect them whether they like it or not.

And it doesn't have to be a secret. You can let them know that you have that keylogg monitoring software installed on all the home computers. This itself will make them resist the temptation to explore these dangerous sites.

Every now and then let them know that you are monitoring their internet usage by discussing something they came across on the internet (you'll know from the monitoring software) and ask them about their opinion about it. This will establish the idea that you are watching them.

It's for their own good. Better safe than sorry as they say.

Install a parental control software

This porn blocker software actually blocks what other parental control software don't. It's not all about pornography though.

It blocks all kinds of offensive materials, integrates with all search engines, works with all known Internet browsers, stops illegal file sharing, limits access to social networks, provides simple url logging, and blocks chat programs.

Antiporn Software and Parental Control Options for Windows Users

Why Antiporn Software?

Antiporn software has become a necessary need for any family with kids. The multi-billion dollar pornography industry is attempting to invade all homes worldwide. It's not always good vs. evil, sometimes it's just money. The more people watching pornography, and the more kids become exposed and addicted to it the more money the pornography industry will make.

With almost 12% of all websites are in the pornography industry there is a really good chance that you, your kids, or someone else that you care about will run into pornography. From my experience with many, many friends ... watching pornography is easily addictive. It all starts out of curiosity. Later, curiosity turns into a habit, and a habit turns into addiction.

In this lens you'll learn about ways to block Internet pornography websites, including installing an antiporn software on all your computers.

Windows Built-in Antiporn Software

For Windows users there is a parental control icon in the control panel of Windows Vista and 7. Through this feature you can control what games your kids can play, what websites they can access, and what movies or TV channels they can watch on Windows Media Center.

This built in parental control enables you to monitor your kids activity on your computer and based on this feedback you can fine-tune and reconfigure your parental control settings to fit with your kids use. Just create a separate account for each one of your kids and set up your parental control options for each account.

Windows XP doesn't have this feature as centralized as it is on Vista and 7, but you still can set the parental control on the Internet browser and Windows media player. It's a lot of work, and most of the time after a while you'll have to turn them off because they block everything.

Antiporn Software to Install

It's a good move of Microsoft to add a built in parental control software with the newest versions of Windows. Unfortunately through they are not the best (based on my friends experience with it). In addition to the faulty positives (blocking non-porn sites) and negatives (porn sites that infiltrate through to your kids in spite of the parental control), there is an icon that will show on the system tray to indicate that the parental control is on. So there is no way you can put it to work without everybody knowing it is on. Although it's better to be transparent and let all users know it is there, some parents might need to keep it stealth for a reason or another.

There are third party antiporn programs that are compatible with Windows, and can even be controlled from Windows control panel. These programs have their own database and settings that are meant to enhance the user safe surf experience without interfering with normal activity.

The most recent one on the market is my porn blocker. It is designed by a father and his software developer brother in order to protect his kids after he walked on his 10 years old with an explicit scene on his monitor. The software is available for anyone to download and it is so cheap that any one can afford.

Affairs | Extra-Marital Sex | Scary Stats

In the past (and still in some countries) cheating spouses were stoned to death as a punishment for their crime. This reflects how horrible this act of cheating was viewed by people in the past.

When I say "in the past" I don't mean thousands of years ago. That's only as old as the United States. Even 60 years ago, extra-marital relationships were viewed as disgusting and humiliating here in North America.

That was in the past. Now it's different.

A child who's born within a marriage is one of the few lucky ones. Not only that. "Fatherless America" is the new description of the United States.

Men, and women actually, get to fulfill their desires without worrying about a whole generation coming after them to replace them some day without knowing how it looks like to have a family, or how should the father do.

The result is a generation who follows the steps of their parents. A generation that engages in sexual activities (extra-marital of course) early in their adolescence (Metzler et al., 1994).

The result is a generation deeply involved in drugs, alcohol, criminality, with more mental illnesses, and prone to suicide (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 1993).

The result is a generation of children abused by their own mothers (Ditson and Shay, 1984).

This is the current generation in case you didn't do the math.

How in the world would such a generation continue to be the leader of the free world? How would such a generation pass values and morals to the next generation?

How would the next generation look like?
